Move toward what makes you happy

We’re looking for something to clear the fog for us; to show us the how to reach a higher plane. But, spend a little time studying the ideas around spiritual enlightenment and you’ll quickly see that ALL of the teachers will tell you that your guidance comes from within.

You cannot have a happy ending to an unhappy journey

If we go through life focused on the negative, using every opportunity to point out the ugly and the unfortunate and the unjust things in this world (all of which are personal judgements, by the way), we’re going to end our lives unhappy, unhealthy, and full of resentment and fear.

Let the experiments begin!

Just reading the introductory sections of this book gave me goosebumps – I’m connecting to it like I haven’t connected to a book in a long time – and it’s got me excited to see the results.

You don’t get a better Corvette for suffering

If someone has spent 14 years walking to work, and has developed a desire to drive a new Corvette, is their desire any more valid than yours, which came forth when you watched a great commercial about the latest model? It’s the same desire.

Line up the Energy first

I used to play tennis fairly regularly with a friend of mine. He’s taller, has a longer reach, and (especially today) has more physical stamina than I have. But more importantly, he’s got the mental ability to focus on a goal without distraction. Combine that with his competitive drive, and he’s hard to beat. In fact, I never once did it! I believe that I actually have more talent on the tennis court, and that he’s not THAT much better an athlete than I, but I don’t have the sheer determination to win that he does. I didn’t take the time to see myself beating him before we played, and it never happened…

OMG! I think it’s working!

“What is meditation supposed to accomplish?” I mean aside from lowering your blood pressure, helping you to relax, and the sizeable list of other physical benefits. These things are reason enough to do it, but they’re not spiritual in nature. Rather, they’re wonderful side effects. How does meditation help someone along their path?

Mahalia Michaels and the Not-So-Strange Coincidence

…Luckily, she was a pretty good speaker, physically attractive (OK, truth time – she’s pretty sexy), and a core component of what she was talking about was near and dear to every man’s heart – sexuality and sensuality. So, we stayed and listened…

Gooooooooooooals!!!!!!!!!

The kinds of goals Abraham is talking about here are those which we have more of a connection to. They’re the kinds of desires that make you want to get up in the morning; that make you willing to do things that are new, different, more. Things you hadn’t thought of before. Things you previously would have said you couldn’t or wouldn’t ever do. They give you energy by thinking about them.

What’s love got to do with it?

Appreciation is a concept I can get my head around. I know how it feels (yes, I know how love feels, too – don’t go there), and I know how to look for something to appreciate in another person, a work of art, an idea. But I’ll be honest; it’s not something I’ve…

The Universe is only answering YOUR vibration

…She wanted to live a life of fun and freedom and financial independence and health and happiness… But she wasn’t willing to take responsibility for it. She died broke, alone, mostly without friends, and convinced that she was the butt of the Universe’s jokes.

Could be tomorrow afternoon

If thinking about a thing sets the Universe to work delivering it, doesn’t it make sense that thinking about it can also delay, obstruct, or even prevent the Universe from delivering it, as well?

Inertia

… the more challenging it is, the more you have to focus your mind on what your body is doing. I promise you that if you go skydiving, you will NOT be thinking about work as you step out of the plane. Taking a mental vacation…
